Alumni of Bonny Doon School
Alumni from near and far are especially encouraged to attend as we remember the history of our special little school! If you are an alum, we would love to hear from you and encourage you to reach out to old friends and classmates about this special event. Connect with old friends and share photos on the Bonny Doon Community School Foundation Facebook page! This is relatively new Facebook page but we really hope that this event will help grow it into a vibrant forum for staying in touch with friends and getting news about significant events at the Bonny Doon School! Join our alumni registry! The Bonny Doon Community School Foundation is organizing this event and creating an alumni registry to help you stay in touch with what's going on at the Bonny Doon School. |
Founders Day Celebration Fundraiser:
The school's main sound system in the multi-purpose room needs to be replaced so we are using the Founders Day Celebration as an opportunity to raise money for this much needed project. If you are interested in contributing, please use the button below. Thank you!!! A word about the Bonny Doon School and Community
At its heart, the Founders Day Celebration is simply a way for us to recognize the important role our special little school has played in our lives and our community for 70 meaningful years. As alumni, students, parents, teachers and community members, the school is integral to so many of our connections with each other and our sense of place in this wonderful corner of the Santa Cruz mountains. Our love for our school makes us a better community. We believe that celebrating our history will help us build a thriving future in Bonny Doon! What is the Bonny Doon Community School Foundation?
The Founders Day Celebration is organized by the Bonny Doon Community School Foundation and Bonny Doon community members. At the Foundation, our mission is to "Support public education by creating opportunities for learning and promoting educational excellence for the children of Bonny Doon." Our work is made doubly meaningful knowing how near and dear the school is to so many Dooners' hearts. The primary activities of the Foundation are fundraising and grant making directly to the school. The Foundation oversees the Bonny Doon School Future Fund, an endowment for supporting the school in perpetuity. The Future Fund holds about $225,000 with a current goal of $2 million. Please visit the Future Fund webpage to learn more or contribute. Our largest fundraiser of the year and absolutely thriving celebration of the Bonny Doon community is the Bonny Doon Art, Wine and Brew Festival held on the first weekend in June. Over the last few years the festival has raised over $150,000 and is without doubt, the best party in the Santa Cruz Mountains!!! We hope you will join us at this year's festival to have a lot of fun and raise money for our school!!!! Please visit the festival webpage for more information. |
